Criteria to Run for An Elected Office
In order to be eligible to run for an elected office in The Town of Fenwick Island, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be registered to vote in The Town of Fenwick Island for at least one year prior to the election for which you seek to be nominated
• Be a natural person who is a citizen of the United States
• Be at least 21 years of age on or before the date of the election
• Be either a bona fide resident of the Town or a property owner in the Town
• You may not have been convicted of a felony

The deadline to file to run for office is in June. Final date will be determined in May.

Candidate Forms Required by The Town
You may download an application or pick up a copy at Town Hall. Completed applications will be accepted by the Town Clerk in person only.

Candidate Forms Requierd by The State
In addition to the above Town Application, all petitioners must complete the required State of Delaware forms. These forms must accompany your application to The Town.

WHEREAS, the Board of Elections has examined the Certificates of Eligibility submitted by the four (4) nominees, and do HEREBY declare, the following candidates eligible and qualified to serve:

WHEREAS, one candidate, Natalie Magdeburger, has voluntarily withdrawn her application;

WHEREAS, there being no other nominees for the three (3) Council positions presently eligible to be filled by election of qualified candidates;

THEREFORE, the Board of Elections declares that these three (3) remaining candidates are hereby declared elected to fill the three (3) vacancies, and the scheduled August 4, 2012 election is hereby cancelled.
